Description: In response to Tropical Storm Allison, Pin Oak Interests in conjunction with Linbeck Construction Company has been assisting St. Luke’s in its planning, coordination, and implementation of projects to meet FEMA guidelines and maintain compliance.

A flood mitigation plan was formed, combining “state of the art” flood protection theory and products in the hospital including: flood gates and doors, which are also used to segregate flooding between buildings that are connected by the below grade tunnel, new elevated emergency power generators and the relocation of all emergency electrical equipment from the basement to the 3rd floor. Also waterproofing, flood walls (diversion channels) and permanent high-volume flood water discharge pumps have been installed.
